SUMMARY The Design Engineer position reports directly to the global product manager dry filtration air pollution control. The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop products within the Research & Development team, supporting the alignment of Camfil APC's technological advancements with its overall business strategy. The Design Engineer is engaged in all aspects of product design and development, ensuring that new products provide a competitive advantage in their respective market segments. The role relies on research and data‑driven techniques to qualify, specify, and design innovative products within the industrial dust collection market.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and develop products that fulfill both internal and external customer requirements, adhering to cost, time, and quality standards.
Develop market‑oriented products that support Camfil's business objectives.
Use data acquisition & analysis tools to drive product creation, differentiation, and tracking.
Manage project timelines and provide regular progress reports to the Senior Manager.
Lead or assist with project teams as assigned by management.
Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and other product development materials.
Assess and communicate risks associated with new products and designs.
Continuously evaluate the product portfolio for opportunities related to technology, design, cost, manufacturing, and quality improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
A degree in engineering or equivalent competence acquired through other means.
Experience in Project Management.
At least two years of experience in comparable industries.
Strong technical understanding of products and design methods.
Experience with data acquisition systems and related techniques.
Proficiency in data analysis, including statistical methods and the interpretation of engineering data.
Familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and the various phases of the project lifecycle.
Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate in a factual and professional manner with both internal and external parties.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
Achievement and results‑oriented mindset.
Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or DraftSight.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Fluency in the local language of the work location is required.
Good command of both spoken and written English.
Demonstrated motivation as a team player, includes trustworthiness and high integrity.
Ability to promote and maintain a positive and effective work culture.
WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, and plant environments. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
