Data Architect – Power & Utilities – Manager – Consulting – Location OPEN Join EY to apply for the Data Architect - Power & Utilities - Manager - Consulting role. The position is open to locations anywhere in the country and is targeted at experienced professionals with a background in utilities sector data architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and deliver one or more processes, solutions, or projects, focusing on quality and risk management.

Design, architect and present data solutions that support transactional, operational, analytical and AI initiatives for clients.

Lead transformative technology projects and programs aligned with EY’s strategy, guiding both technical and non‑technical teams.

Apply expertise in Agile and Waterfall delivery methods to coach project teams and propose solutions to technical constraints.

Conduct workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to capture requirements, define use‑cases, and align on data architecture strategies.

Establish and enforce data governance policies, security, quality, and lifecycle management practices.

Mentor and develop global data architecture and engineering teams, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Develop strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to senior decision‑makers.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM.

8+ years professional consulting experience in industry or technology consulting.

8+ years hands‑on experience designing, delivering or optimizing data lake solutions.

3+ years experience with native cloud products (Azure, GCP).

5+ years mentoring and leading teams of data architects and engineers.

In‑depth knowledge of data architecture principles and best practices.

Experience leading large data engineering teams to build platforms with complex architectures.

Hands‑on coding skills in Python, Java or Scala.

Experience with containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

Proficiency in DevOps practices, version control (Git) and DataOps.

Leadership, communication and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical/Power Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a related field.

Experience at a Big 4 or major utility.

Experience with cloud data platforms such as Databricks.

Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive environments and drive innovation.

Excellent client trust and commercial acumen.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation and benefits package; base salary ranges $125,500 – $230,200 (US). Additional perks include medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and paid time off.

Hybrid working model: 40‑60% onsite, depending on engagement.
