Educational Program Coordinator I/II/III – Anesthesiology/MSA Program The Educational Coordinator for the UTHealth Houston Master of Science in Anesthesia (MSA) Program will support the planning, delivery, and evaluation of academic and clinical education activities across the program. The role assists with curriculum coordination, student scheduling, accreditation documentation, and communication between faculty, clinical sites, and learners. The coordinator ensures smooth daily operations, maintains program records, and contributes to a high‑quality educational experience that aligns with UTHealth Houston’s standards for excellence in graduate medical education.

Position Summary Coordinates and administers educational programs.

Position Key Accountabilities

Provides assistance with the coordination of a health education program to ensure achievement of the program’s goals and objectives.

Conducts surveys and gathers and analyzes health data to assist the faculty in preparation of curriculum and audiovisual instructional materials.

Assists course coordinators in assigning teaching staff, preparing course syllabi, evaluating presentations, ensuring behavioral objectives, and maintaining current course outlines and lesson plans.

Organizes and coordinates teaching laboratory materials, maintains a list of all existing equipment and teaching aids, and orders and maintains educational materials and equipment.

Maintains the Health Education Library, including current audiovisual instructional resources, to service laboratory and classroom training.

Provides support in a clinical setting to recommend and implement policies and procedures that improve the practical clinical experience of students.

Directs lecture format and laboratory in a research setting.

Makes recommendations regarding development and implementation of new policies and procedures to improve medical care, planning, scheduling, and training of students and residents.

Maintains and assists faculty with necessary updates to course‑related websites.

Obtains proctors for examinations, assembles examinations, prepares slide carousels, posts grades, maintains grade rosters, and assists students and faculty with course questions.

Trains and assists faculty, residents, and other personnel on the slide scanner and other teaching equipment.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience One year of experience in an educational setting.

Experience in Classroom Teaching (Preferred) Preferred experience in classroom teaching.

Physical Requirements Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Security Sensitive This position is a security‑sensitive position pursuant to Texas Education Code 51.215, Texas Government Code 411.094, and related statutes. The holder must maintain the security or integrity of critical infrastructure and is subject to routine review for criminal history or connections to foreign adversaries.

Residency Requirement Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
