May Mobility is transforming cities through autonomous technology to create a safer, greener, more accessible world. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, May develops and deploys autonomous vehicles (AVs) powered by our Multi-Policy Decision Making (MPDM) technology. Our vehicles provide value to communities, bridge public transit gaps and move people safely, easily and with more fun. We are building the world’s best autonomy system to reimagine transit by minimizing congestion, expanding access and encouraging better land use to foster greener, more vibrant and livable spaces. Coordinates and implements vehicle upfits to support fleet upgrades and initiatives Debugs electrical and mechanical issues on the vehicles Executes on-site sensor calibrations Executes on-site testing of feature improvements Performs preventative maintenance on May vehicles Records issues found and resolutions, escalating in proper channels as necessary Assists in testing the autonomous operation of the vehicle to ensure it follows May’s safety and rider comfort standards Implements hardware changes in the field, ensuring safe operation for return to service Communicates issues and successes to the engineering team and drives resolution Performs data acquisition by utilizing vehicle sensor suite Coordinates and develops on-site configuration and deployment of autonomous technology in designated locations Builds and maintains local May Mobility mapping assets Assists in fleet cleanliness and demo readiness Leadership and Mentorship: Lead onboarding and training for new Site Autonomy Engineers (SAEs); develop and maintain training materials; mentor SAEs for professional growth Multi-Site Support: Provide technical and operational support to multiple site locations and ensure consistent operations and best practices Issue Escalation: Monitor and address operational challenges; escalate critical issues to senior management and provide detailed resolution reports Travel and On-Site Support: Travel to site locations for hands-on technical support and act as on-site representative for major launches and upgrades Leadership and Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and support fleet-wide initiatives Interviewing SAE Candidates: Participate in recruitment, conduct technical and behavioral interviews, and provide feedback to assist hiring decisions Skills and Abilities
Impeccable discretion and integrity when handling confidential information Ability to work in an agile startup and engineering environment Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills Strong attention to detail and highly organized Ability to multitask and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment Passionate about self-driving cars and their impact on the world Qualifications and Experience
3 years of working experience Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects across locations Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to train and lead teams Experience in fast-paced, multi-site operational environments Experience conducting technical interviews and evaluating candidates Ability to travel up to 30% of the time for site support Desirable
1 year of experience in the SAE role Experience training and mentoring technical teams Experience with escalation processes and communicating with senior management Familiarity with project management tools and techniques Physical Requirements
