NDOT\'s Local Assistance Division is responsible for managing and overseeing the expenditure of federal transportation funds on the local road systems within the communities of Nebraska. Specifically, this position facilitates project development activities, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines, managing schedules, and overseeing consultant contracts. Job Duties The Highway Project Scheduling/Programming Coordinator plays an important role in preparing federal aid-funded transportation construction projects for advertisement. You will: Manage a program of 20 to 30 projects at a time and be responsible for scope, cost, and schedule. Be involved with every phase of projects from initiation through to construction. Learn the Federal and State requirements and steps to prepare a construction project for advertisement. Be part of the "Super team" of technical project managers assigned to oversee projects within a region. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements/Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Hwy Project Scheduling Analyst: Post high school coursework/training in engineering, engineering technology, highway construction or maintenance, or project management, and experience in using personal computers to access and use various software programs and databases to extract and prepare data and reports. Hwy Project Scheduling Coordinator: Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that will enable the individual to possess the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. A general qualification guideline for positions in this class is: four years post high school coursework/training in engineering, construction management/science, or computer science, AND two years of experience in pre-construction design, or technical construction, or computer science activities and procedures, to include the use of project scheduling computer applications to create and modify project schedules. Preferred Qualifications

Experience as a project manager. Experience working in or leading a team of technical experts that assess and mitigate project scope, cost, and schedule risks. Experience with Clarity or another Project Management System, Open Workbench, Microsoft Suite of products, OnBase, or another Document Management System. Experience creating or tracking performance measures. Experience using data to make decisions or find trends. Working knowledge, training, or experience with Transportation Project Development processes. Other

Regular and reliable in-person attendance is required. Must have a valid driver\'s license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation. The position does require infrequent travel for project site visits, about once a month. Positions and incumbents in this job class assigned to the Local Assistance Division will be required to work toward certification as a Project Manager Professional (PMP). This certification is required for permanent classification to the Highway Project Scheduling/Programming Coordinator class. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
