Auto Mechanic / Automotive Technician
Job Summary:
Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicles to ensure safe, reliable operation. Performs mechanical and electrical repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic vehicle issues using diagnostic tools and systems
Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake service, tire rotation, and fluid checks
Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems
Inspect vehicles for safety, performance, and compliance with regulations
Test‑drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify proper operation
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Communicate repair needs and recommendations clearly with service advisors or customers
Qualifications:
Proven experience as an auto mechanic or automotive technician
Strong knowledge of vehicle systems and diagnostic equipment
Ability to read repair manuals, schematics, and technical bulletins
ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Ability to lift heavy components and work in a fast‑paced environment
Salary info:
$22 - $25 / hr
