Production Supervisor – Streetsboro Plastics Operations Shift: Night 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM, rotating shift
Shift Premium Amount: $2.00
Pay Rate: $34.00 per hour
Responsibilities
The Team Performance Leader (TPL) leads daily shift operations and assists management to meet performance goals.
Coordinates production requirements by communicating priorities set by Production Management, Production Control, and Shipping, ensuring orders are processed with emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity.
Implements continuous improvement objectives and monitors team performance, taking action when safety, productivity, or quality goals are not met.
Proactively minimizes scrap, spoilage, and customer returns while tracking quality indicators.
Audits standards, updates shift production targets, ensures service functions (Warehouse, Core Cutting, Plate‑making, Supply Depot, Maintenance) do not impact productivity, and provides backup manpower to prevent line stoppage.
Leads teams to ensure proper line balancing and takes appropriate actions to meet business needs.
Identifies training gaps and applies SPLs (Single Point Lessons) to close them.
Prepares shift manning schedules, records attendance, documents vacation and holidays, tracks absenteeism, and reports trends to management.
Advices management on employee issues requiring immediate attention in safety, quality, production, and personnel areas.
Prepares and leads daily Tier 1 ("Focus 5") shift production meetings, facilitates real‑time root‑cause problem solving, and ensures escalation protocols are followed.
Coaches and counsels teams through the accountability matrix, motivates them to achieve goals, and ensures effective communication.
Assists management in assessing individual and team performance and development.
Supports and champions business decisions and communicates critical issues impacting department performance.
Recommends disciplinary action when necessary and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 3‑5 years in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, be well organized, and be a team player.
Computer proficiency (SAP, Excel, Word).
Demonstrated commitment to safety.
Positive work history with ability to manage multiple tasks.
Can work independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance.
Supports and assists Lean initiatives within the department.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, professional presentation, and negotiation skills.
Maintains professional appearance and attitude.
Follows all safety, quality, plant GMP and safe food handling rules.
Flexible work schedule based on project demands and business needs.
Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
