Financial Systems Analyst
Our client is looking to fill the role of Financial Systems Analyst. The Financial Systems Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing systems used to support the finance process cycles within the organization. This role acts as a liaison between Accounting, Revenue Operations/Billing, IT, and external vendors to ensure the integrity, efficiency, and scalability of financial processes and systems.
Compensation : $105k-$120k base plus bonus and significant opportunity for growth and upward mobility.
Responsibilities
Understand financial requirements of business stakeholders and translate them into requirement documents and architectural designs.
Own the implementation, testing, launch and maintenance of financial systems to ensure alignment with business objectives and comply with industry standards.
Analyze and optimize financial processes and workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and control, leveraging automation and technology advancements.
Assess the feasibility and cost effectiveness of proposed solutions.
Help with triage, disposition and remediation of emerging production support requests and issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and enforce data governance and security standards for financial systems.
Act as a subject matter expert on financial systems and processes, providing guidance, support, and training to stakeholders across the organization.
Participate in staff meetings and workgroups by providing constructive input for process improvements and solutions.
Aid accounting team in month close by managing data flows and reporting from finance systems.
Ensure accurate and timely provision of revenue data across systems for month end close journal entries and aid the accounting team in applying ASC 606 and healthcare‑specific revenue recognition policies.
Collaborate with billing, collections, and compliance teams to identify and resolve discrepancies or issues related to Modmed, AWS, and Sage Intacct databases.
Aid FP&A team in updating forecasted revenue timing in Workday, and in preparing provider compensation calculations and accruals.
Aid financial operations team in researching and responding to questions regarding revenue variances by clinic location.
Create and maintain documentation on financial systems, processes, and policies.
Support the Accounting/Finance team with ad‑hoc requests, analysis, or special projects as well as other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities for Maintaining Role
Identify self‑learning needs related to role and seek out appropriate resources to stay up to date with emerging trends and advancements in financial technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain positive relationships with clinical staff, peers, vendors, and other team members.
Maintain open communication with supervisor and team. Receive and apply constructive input for performance improvement and individual growth.
Adhere to Compliance program.
Safeguard PHI and financial information, utilizing HIPAA confidentiality, privacy, and security standards and policies.
Perform work under minimal supervision, handling complex issues and problems.
Fully comply with OSHA workplace safety regulations.
Performance Requirements, Skills and Abilities
Possess expert level of knowledge of financial systems and processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Advanced Excel skills, such as pivots, lookups, and formula‑driven spreadsheets.
Strong interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
Detail‑oriented and proven ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, following through to completion.
Strong overall business acumen with ability to apply appropriate technologies to achieve business objectives.
Demonstrate cultural competency, sensitivity, and responsiveness to various cultural characteristics and beliefs.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
Experience with fast‑growing multi‑site organization, preferably healthcare‑related US GAAP experience.
At least four (4) years of relevant experience in accounting and/or finance.
Preferred
Active CPA License.
Familiarity with SQL or other query languages for data analysis.
Financial reporting experience.
