Job Description
Perform duties related to verification of insurances for all facilities at STHS. Verify insurance plans, call insurance companies to obtain benefits and pre-certification within 24 hours of admission (except for patients admitted on Fridays and during the weekend). Ensure case managers receive an online verification form to notify of any clinical pending or days approved for pre-cert. Communicate effectively with the case management department. Perform patient registration functions by interviewing patients or responsible parties to obtain identification and demographic information. Communicate STHS financial policies to patients and collect patient portions.
Qualifications
One to two years of medical/healthcare business office experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Computer skills.
Good verbal communication skills in English/Spanish.
Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
Education / Licensure
High School diploma, GED, or higher education preferred.
