Legal Assistant Colorado District Attorneys' Council – Denver, CO (18th Judicial District).

Salary:

$23.00–$35.00 per hour.

Job Description

Prepares and maintains digital and paper case files for attorneys and paralegals, including court filings, writs, motions, briefs, petitions, opinions, and appeals.

Creates and disburses subpoenas, discovery documents, and other legal forms.

Manages file organization in ACTION, e‑Discovery, Criminal e‑Filing, and archiving programs.

Maintains case docket schedules and ensures timely completion of tasks.

Handles administrative duties: types correspondences, edits drafts, pulls and distributes case files, scans, classifies documents, and updates electronic and paper records.

Provides general office support, including telephone triage, mail distribution, and coverage for other support staff.

Assists with research and statistical compilation for special administrative projects.

Requirements

Considerable knowledge of standard legal/court procedures and terminology.

Working knowledge of general office procedures.

Strong spelling, punctuation, and grammar skills; ability to perform mathematical calculations.

Excellent planning, organization, and prioritization skills to meet statutory deadlines.

Ability to follow semi‑complex oral and written instructions.

Proficiency with standard office equipment and computer applications.

Effective communication and relationship‑building with attorneys, court officials, and the public.

Typing speed of 60 wpm.

Education and Experience

High school graduation, GED, or related field.

At least one year of clerical support experience in a legal environment.

Other combinations of education and work experience will be considered.
