Overview
Air Force Civilian Service seeks IT Cybersecurity Specialists, Mission System Administrators to support the 67 Cyberspace Wing, 67 Cyberspace Operations Group, 367 Cyberspace Operations Squadron at Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland AFB, San Antonio, Texas. This Cyber Excepted Service position is implemented under Section 1599F, Title 10 United States Code. A 3-year probationary period applies for new Federal government appointments. DoDI 1400.25, Volume 3005 coverage of Veterans’ Preference applies. Salary is $102,203.00 – $139,685.00 per year, based on experience; relocation expenses and recruitment/retention incentives may be available. This position can close at any time. U.S. citizenship is required and the role is designated as Drug Test Designated Position. Responsibilities
In this position you will serve as an IT Specialist with the responsibility to design, build, defend, and maintain the cyber mission infrastructure for the 67 CW/COG/ COS to support national priorities. Qualifications/Requirements
Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance Counter-intelligence-scope polygraph examination required Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience Must obtain and maintain an Information Assurance certification within 6 months of assigned duties This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position Knowledge of information system components integration to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems and optimize performance Knowledge of network design principles, methodologies, and approaches for developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services Knowledge of latest technology advancements to initiate corrective or preventative action for optimum system performance Knowledge of performance tuning tools, database management, and project management methods to optimize systems performance Knowledge of operating systems, devices, and interoperability to install, upgrade, troubleshoot, maintain systems and ensure availability, integrity, and reliability Ability to troubleshoot, recover, adjust, modify, and improve systems; provide support with minimal interruptions; analyze component interrelationships; evaluate network systems and applications from an operational perspective Application and Compliance
