Job Description A Project Specialist is responsible for leading project teams and managing the five phases of project management. The Project Specialist will establish, monitor, and update project schedules regularly to ensure timely completion. The Project Specialist is responsible for overseeing all financial (budgets, appropriations, current working estimates, etc.) and scheduling aspects of the project. The successful candidate will also support the capital procurement process. The project specialist must be committed to fostering a Zero Accident Culture, promoting Diversity and Inclusion, achieving Operational Excellence, developing an effective Cost Management Culture, and enhancing the customer's experience. Additionally, the Project Specialist must be committed to the Way We Work Principles and adhere to the Company’s Standards of Business Conduct, as well as other Company procedures, including Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S).

Responsibilities Core Responsibilities

Lead project teams and manage the five phases of project management (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and close‑out).

Oversee all financial (budgets, appropriations, current working estimates, etc.) and scheduling aspects of the project.

Establish, monitor, and update project schedules.

Support Capital Procurement Process.

Oversee the acquisition of necessary permits and licenses to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and manage construction and commissioning activities to guarantee timely and proper execution.

Facilitate clear and efficient communication across key departments—including Engineering, Legal, Real Estate, Public Affairs, Supply Chain, Construction, Operations, Technical Services, System and Transmission Operations, Electric and Steam Operations, and Planning—to ensure the timely exchange of critical project information and successful project completion.

Create technical reports and conduct technical presentations to all levels of management.

Work with the Operating Organization to commission and seamlessly hand over all projects, by providing all documentation and training.

Act as a liaison for all regulatory and public officials during project implementation, and address community concerns associated with the project.

Ensure human performance improvement tools are integrated in the planning and execution of projects to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Ensure that good housekeeping and cleanliness practices are followed throughout the entire project, from start to finish.

Manage project close‑out meeting to develop lessons learned and corrective actions.

Qualifications Required Education/Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years of related work experience, or

Master’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of related work experience.

Relevant Work Experience

Minimum of three years work experience related to project management, creating communications for impact, and visual communications, required.

Ability to identify trends, conduct follow‑up analysis, and create visualizations, required.

Computer literacy with proficiency in Windows environments and Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, Access, MS Teams, PowerPoint & CoPilot), required.

Strong analytical and creative problem‑solving skills, required.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced and evolving work environment, required.

Familiarity with the scheduling tools (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6), preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred

Additional Physical Demands

The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non‑business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
