Reporting to the Area Directors are General Managers (chief Cafe managers) responsible for the overall running of their cafés. Aiding the management of the Cafe are Assistant Managers, who oversee departments and assist with day-to-day management. Rounding out the cafe leadership are Team Managers. Position Description Our Panera Bread cafes are upscale, friendly environments featuring baked breads and pastries. We serve made-to-order soups, salads and sandwiches, as well as specialty espresso beverages. No fryers and no late nights; we maintain a grease- and alcohol-free environment for our associates. Managers are expected to be morning-oriented when possible. Managers at our growing cafes supervise up to 75 staff members to ensure a top-quality service experience for our guests. Responsibilities Provide outstanding leadership to your team. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Restaurant management involves strategic planning, shift organization and day-to-day management. Management at Panera Bread is fast-paced, demanding and rewarding. Typical work activities for a Team Manager Serve as a role-model and lead the team. Ensure team members deliver great customer service. Take ownership for the business performance of the restaurant. Maintain a safe, secure and healthy environment by following all safety and sanitation standards and procedures. Run quality opening, mid and closing shifts to ensure a consistent positive customer experience. Coordinate the entire operation of the restaurant during scheduled shifts. Greet customers and conduct table visits to ensure customer satisfaction. Recruit, train and motivate staff. Assist the bakery-cafe specialist, ensuring team members are trained and competent in all aspects of food service and customer support. Ensure objectives are achieved while operating within company guidelines, cultural values and ethical practices. Exhibit a professional image and promote our values and beliefs as outlined in internal materials. Education and Experience At least 1-2 years of hospitality experience. Food management certifications are a plus. Must have a strong ownership mentality. Excellent organization, customer service and time management skills. Proven leadership track record. Passion, energy and a positive attitude. Ability to work under pressure and with a diverse group of people. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Reference checks.
