Job Description Overview: This is a TEMPORARY position and will not include benefits. Pay: $21-$26 Hourly. The DOT Specialist ensures compliance in areas related to the Department of Transportation and provides administrative support for various HR and Department of Transportation programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Initiates files for the Department of Transportation to ensure compliance in all regions

Manages files for the Department of Transportation to ensure compliance

Communicates with employees and managers for license and medical card recertifications

Coordinates appointments for physical, functional, and drug tests for ILS, OTI, OZREL, Aggregates, Ozinga International and Ozinga Cement

Communicates with Secretary of State for verification of records

Executes DOT verification of employment requests with third party vendors

Organizes and audits drug testing processes

Audits and updates applicable employee records in various systems

Analyzes applications and furnishes DOT preboarding forms for all regions

Monitors motor vehicle records monthly in addition to the DOT Annual Review process

Attends webinars to keep up to date on federal and state regulations

Oversees and administers leave requests including FMLA and Personal Medical

Communicates and establishes relationships with vendors and medical clinics regularly

Collaborates with various departments of the Company such as Fleet, Safety, and Insurance

Applies to regions of ILS, OTI, and OZREL.

Project Management

Assists in identifying DOT process improvements

Assists in the execution of projects for DOT Compliance programs

Global Responsibilities

Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information

Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position

This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

Associate or bachelor’s degree in related area preferred

Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred

Skills/Abilities

Detail oriented; specifically, in database and recording keeping

Identify and resolve issues in a timely manner

Demonstrate a highly professional, flexible and customer service demeanor

Effectively communicate with all levels of employees via phone and/or email

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
