Senior Manager – Fleet Operations and Customs Brokerage
The Senior Manager of Fleet Operations and Customs Brokerage is responsible for overseeing and optimizing multiple high-volume supply chain and logistics operations to ensure service quality, customer satisfaction, cost efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures. This role provides operational leadership and supports strategic initiatives across Product Line/Operations, Air, Ocean, Domestic, and Customs Brokerage. The Senior Manager drives performance, safety, quality, and team development while ensuring adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead operational execution and contribute to short- and mid-term business development strategies for Air, Ocean, Domestic, and Customs Brokerage services.
Implement and monitor improvement programs focused on cost reduction, revenue growth, quality, safety, and operational best practices.
Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, and professional development for operations management teams within company guidelines.
Support business case development for capital investments and assist in asset allocation decisions.
Manage start-up activities for new operations and ensure smooth integration into existing processes.
Oversee multiple high-volume logistics/supply chain operations within assigned region or industry segment.
Drive profitability through superior customer service, effective communication, and timely resolution of operational issues. Accountable for P&L performance within assigned scope.
Review and analyze operational and financial reports, budgets, and forecasts, and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Actively coach and mentor direct reports, fostering career development and continuous improvement.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transportation, or related field preferred.
Master’s degree is a plus.
Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Experience
Minimum 8–10 years managing large logistics or transportation operations.
Proven experience driving revenue growth, customer retention, and profitability across multiple sites.
At least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably with oversight of geographically dispersed teams.
Communication Skills
Fluent in English with exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Ability to influence, negotiate, and present effectively to diverse audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills with diplomacy and patience.
Special Knowledge/Skills
Solid understanding of project management methodologies and operational improvement strategies.
Experience managing budgets, P&L, and operational KPIs.
Strong planning, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
Knowledge of strategic planning processes and ability to translate plans into actionable steps.
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
Travel Requirements
Up to 50% of domestic travel may be required.
