Position Overview

The Finance Manager at DastN oversees the full scope of the company’s financial operations in Germany, acting as the internal financial controller, accounting manager, and liaison with the external certified accountants and tax advisors. This role ensures that the company’s financial transactions, bookkeeping, payroll, banking and reporting are executed in line with German legal, tax and accounting standards (HGB, GoBD) and integrates these operations through the Odoo ERP system. The Finance Manager effectively combines strategic financial oversight with detailed day-to-day accounting and compliance coordination.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Accounting:

Manage daily entries, invoices, payroll postings, and ensure compliance with German accounting standards (HGB). Maintain accurate ledgers and archive financial documents in digital form.

External Coordination:

Act as the main contact with external auditors and tax advisors, providing reports, reconciliations, and documentation for tax filings, VAT returns, and statutory obligations.

Compliance & Controls:

Ensure adherence to German financial regulations, AML requirements, and record‑keeping standards (GoBD). Oversee internal controls for payments, receivables, and reconciliations.

Financial Reporting & Strategy:

Prepare management accounts, cash flow statements, forecasts, and variance analyses. Deliver insights on cost control, profitability, and investment readiness to support business growth.

Process & System Ownership:

Lead configuration and optimization of the Odoo ERP finance module, drive automation of financial tasks, and maintain audit‑ready documentation with full data traceability.

Must Have .

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent.

Minimum 5‑7 years experience in finance/accounting roles, with exposure to German accounting/tax compliance (HGB, GoBD).

Demonstrated experience managing daily bookkeeping, payroll, banking, tax coordination and working with external auditors.

Proficiency in ERP accounting systems—experience with Odoo is a significant advantage.

Solid understanding of German financial regulatory environment, tax filings, and compliance frameworks.

High level of organizational, analytical and communication skills; fluency in English and strong proficiency in German preferred.

Integrity, attention to detail and ability to work autonomously in a fast‑growing startup environment.

Comprehensive knowledge of German accounting law (HGB), reporting standards and tax compliance.

Excellence in bookkeeping, ledger management, payroll coordination and banking operations.

Strategic thinking and business partnering.

ERP system mastery, particularly in financial modules.

Preferred Skills

Knowledge of visa, relocation, or international service procedures.

Understanding of GDPR and data protection practices.

Ethical and compliant approach with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Multilingual capabilities (German /B2/- and English /B2 - C1/ required; additional languages an advantage).
