Job Title Project Financial Analyst II
Job Summary Serves as financial analyst for Business Unit Controller(s) and Associate Director(s) Finance. Prepares, reconciles, analyzes and reports Business Unit(s) revenue, contracts, projects, and associated metrics. Produces financial and other business analyses, interpretation, and investigation of data for operations in assigned projects and contracts. Ensures all reporting activities are accurate and prepared within established timelines.
Core Responsibilities
Supports Business Unit Controller: records revenue each month for Unit, Fee for Service and Fixed Price contracts.
Loads project budgets into Oracle/Revenue Wizard and maintains key member lists and project data in Oracle and associated systems.
Drafts project level actual versus budget/forecast variance analysis monthly and monthly reports for distribution and to analyze monthly results.
Drafts monthly forecasting of financial results (backlog).
Meets established deadlines for Revenue and Backlog submittals.
Timely preparation of project close out reconciliations.
Reviews executed Work Orders and Change Orders for anomalies.
Collaborates with Business Unit Controller to capture, assess and consolidate results.
Drafts key reports such as annual cost and expense budgets, cost rates, cost and expense forecasting, monthly utilization, headcount, revenue backlog analysis, and/or gross profit for the assigned area.
Updates predefined reports.
Attends project meetings to support assigned areas, including kick-off and monthly project review meetings.
Monitors overall health of assigned projects including revenues, gross profit, receivables, unbilled amounts, and project close-outs.
Qualifications
Minimum 4‑year Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education and experience.
Zero to two (0–2) years of related experience.
Pharmaceutical or CRO experience preferred.
Strong English proficiency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
Proficiency with accounting software packages.
Experience with Oracle Finance preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Excellent financial, communication, and interpersonal skills; high level of personal motivation to achieve.
Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive data.
Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements Position requires occasional movement indoors to access filing cabinets and office equipment, ability to maintain a stationary position for prolonged periods, occasional manipulation of light to medium weights (10‑35 pounds), constant computer use, and frequent communication with colleagues.
Work Environment Professional office environment with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Low noise level; largely sedentary role.
Salary Range $56,400.00 - $95,900.00
