SCMSC is looking for a full‑time highly skilled
experienced
Nurse Practitioner, preferably with Vascular/General Surgery experience and a passion for patient care, to join our busy and growing practice. We are willing to train and pay for training for candidates who are interested and have the desire to learn this field.
This position is accountable for independently performing a full range of tasks to be an integral part of our team and provide patient care in our Sherman Oaks office and/or hospitals in the San Fernando Valley.
We are hiring for 1 hospital position and 3 clinic positions.
Clinic: Sherman Oaks is the main location 4 days a week. 1 day a week at Porter Ranch satellite office, then rotating 1 day a week at Valencia satellite office every other week. Tarzana office opening soon.
Hospital: Rounding at Holy Cross, Northridge, Tarzana and St. Joseph.
Sign‑on bonus is available for candidates with experience.
Schedule
This is a FULL‑TIME position with a work schedule of 40 hours.
Essential Functions
Provide preventive, acute, and general care in a busy locally owned private clinic.
Assess and diagnose the patient’s condition and develop and implement a treatment plan.
Administer treatments, perform physical examinations, and obtain medical histories.
Order laboratory and diagnostic testing, interpret results, prescribe, administer, and dispense medications and other treatments.
Provide patient education and counseling.
Coordinate treatment, make appropriate referrals to other health providers as necessary and monitor patient outcomes, maintaining safety, infection control, and quality of care standards.
Perform hormone replacement insertion procedures (training provided).
Follow up on potential consults at the hospital.
Network with hospitalists to build referral relationships.
Round on patients in the hospital pre‑/post‑op.
Work with physicians to implement a treatment plan.
Perform all other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Considerable knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of different disciplines, disease states, medication interactions and reactions.
Physical assessment skills, counseling skills, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills.
Ability to perform minimally invasive procedures.
Ability to prioritize information and work independently.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to formulate plans of care.
Decision‑making ability.
Leadership and mentoring skills.
Experience in patient care management.
Advanced degree as a Nurse Practitioner.
Licensed to practice in the State of California.
Current DEA/DPS registration.
Minimum of two to three years experience as a nurse practitioner.
Knowledge of professional nursing theory, clinical practice standards, normal growth and development, and practice requirements.
Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and agency standards.
Current CPR certification.
Adhere to all agency and clinic policies and procedures.
Ability to independently seek resources and solve complex problems.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and an electronic medical record system.
Special Requirement
A seasoned practitioner with experience in a leadership/mentor role is a plus.
Experience or willingness to learn other procedures.
