Position:
Inventory Accountant About the Role We are seeking an
Inventory Accountant
to join a growing manufacturing organization. This role is ideal for someone with a few years of experience in inventory or manufacturing accounting who enjoys being hands‑on and working in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and other inventory reviews as needed.
Reconcile inventory monthly to the general ledger and reconcile physical counts to perpetual inventory.
Record inventory transfers and adjustments as necessary.
Review work order variances to ensure accuracy of inventory transactions.
Track and manage subcontractor inventory for proper GL reporting and valuation.
Set up EFT drafts for sales daily and post payments to AR.
Coordinate with Assistant Controller on cash receipts to ensure accurate reporting.
Prepare detailed account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
Work with outside sales teams on inventory reporting and cash receipts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2-5 years of relevant financial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of GAAP.
Advanced Excel skills preferred.
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills; ability to identify root causes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
Prior inventory accounting experience in a manufacturing setting.
