invites applications for a
Facilities Specialist
to perform custodial work or responsibilities at the Lodge Dining Center.
Responsibilities
Acts in a lead capacity by training and supervising temporary and student staff members as appropriate
Independently adjusts tasks and priorities as needed to accommodate sick calls and special cleaning projects as assigned
Assist the Lodge Facilities Manager with inventory and stocking of cleaning supplies and equipment
Acts as a liaison with the staff and students who visit and work in the Lodge Dining Center to effectively address cleaning challenges and opportunities in a timely manner
Provide support and assistance to team members
High school education/GED or equivalent and three (3) months minimum experience in custodial work experience
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain a safe work environment
Read instructions, safety information, policies and procedures; and communicate clearly written/verbal
Ability to remain productive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively work independently and as a team member
Ability to maintain appropriate records
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) years of directly related cleaning experience, or a combination of experience (custodial and supervisory) and education
One (1) year supervisory experience
Extensive knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
Extensive knowledge of proper, safe chemical handling
Excellent guest service
Demonstrate leadership abilities
Physical Requirements
Lifting: Floor to knuckle height, 80 pounds. 12 inches to 40 inches, 60 pounds. Floor to 60 inches, 50 pounds. Floor to 48 inches, 60 pounds. Floor to overhead, 5 pounds sustained, with both hands.
Carrying: 2 handed front carry 80 pounds for 10 feet.
Pushing and pulling forces required (during the use of cleaning equipment 25 pounds, handling janitor’s cart 5 pounds).
Pushing and pulling forces required (handling, pushing and pulling classroom and office furniture, file cabinets, and equipment): 60 pounds sustained at waist level.
Static trunk forward bending and twisting from a standing, crouching or kneeling position while using tools.
Reaching with your arms in all directions, including overhead with 5 pounds in both hands, sustained.
Working overhead from various positions (standing, squatting, and kneeling).
Balancing when climbing and working on a ladder.
Use of various hand grip circumferences and firm hand grip positions while manipulating various tools and equipment (maximum 50 pounds).
Physical Screen
will be administered prior to a final offer of employment.

Full-time, 1.0 FTE (40 Hours a week), 12 months/year, typical schedule hours 4:00pm to 12:30am (vary due to needs of the unit)
Probationary Period:
Six (6) months minimum
