Experience and Licensure
Must hold a current Utah Administrative/Supervisory License, including passing the Praxis test. Must have at least three years of successful teaching experience. Previous educational administrative experience is required.
Responsibilities
Instructional Leadership
Aides in implementing effective instructional practices. Monitors academic achievement regularly. Observe teachers to ensure alignment with school, district, and state guidelines.
Supervision and Management
Supervises the school's educational program. Manages all personnel, including professional, paraprofessional, administrative, and non-professional staff. Oversees the teaching process. Supervises and evaluates the extracurricular program.
Staff Development and Evaluation
Evaluate and counsel all staff members regarding individual and group performance. Promotes professional development through in-service, conferences, etc. Consistently evaluates to develop professional growth of the staff.
Effective Communication
Conducts necessary staff meetings for the proper functioning of the school. Works harmoniously with staff, students, and community, modeling professional behavior. Communicates effectively with all segments of the school community.
Community Engagement
Works harmoniously with staff, students, and community. Serves with PTA, parent, faculty, and student groups to advance educational objectives. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement.
Financial Management
Manages available funds following district-approved fiscal management systems. Develops and implements systematic business procedures for adequate budgets and inventories.
Leadership and Problem-Solving
Models professional behavior and conveys high expectations. Possesses problem-solving skills. Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the school plant and grounds.
Knowledge and Compliance
Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession. Interprets and enforces school, district, and state policies and administrative regulations. Has knowledge of State Core Curriculum.
Student and School Environment
Is visible in the school environment, observing and responding to all situations. Promotes productivity with staff, students, and patrons using a warm, friendly, and empathetic attitude. Provides a clean, attractive, and orderly environment that recognizes student achievement and staff excellence.
