Position Summary The “Ops Supervisor” assists the Ops Manager/Sr. Ops Manager with the operations and personnel for a shift of a particular location. The Operations Supervisor may have supervisory duties of employees on a shift, including but not limited to: Technicians-In· Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Service Employees. The Operations Supervisor must be able to accomplish results and ensure business objectives and labor requirements are met. The Ops Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the customers’ needs are being met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety and asset targets against the requirements of the business. This position is responsible for the management of the location performance against metrics to meet and/or exceed assigned objectives. The Ops Supervisor will be cross‑functionally trained in order to be able to back up others within the shop. As with all Ryder shop positions, the Ops Supervisor, or “Shift Supervisor”, is responsible for adhering to all Ryder Maintenance Operations policies and procedures.

Hours

– 7:00am to 4:00pm

Salary

– Determined based on internal equity, market data, applicant’s skills, prior experience, and relevant degrees or certifications.

Essential Functions

Workflow Management: work analysis, planning and scheduling, assignment of technicians, productivity tracking and optimization, shift and shop meetings, RO review and approval, warranty policies execution, triage of unscheduled customer drive‑ins, yard checks, and prioritization.

Labor Management: management, training and development of all personnel; performance management.

Customer Management: relationship management, issue resolution, customer satisfaction and retention, communication protocol for PM scheduling & follow‑up, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; conduct customer visits per the Customer Care Plan.

Asset Management: maintain appearance and standards; recommend shop tooling and equipment; oversee vehicle specifications and in‑service/out‑service processes; parts inventory management and policies.

Quality Management: quality inspections of PM & repairs; in‑process reviews of non‑PM work; root cause analysis; quality audits; compliance with safety and EPA regulations.

Financial Management: meet Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives; control budget and P&L; execute maintenance initiatives; payroll, purchase order approval, invoice reconciliation; customer bill‑back process; maintain data integrity.

Additional Responsibilities

Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

Professional representation of Ryder and interaction with customer management.

Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge (preferred).

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (preferred).

Qualifications

H.S. diploma/GED required.

Associate’s degree preferred or 1‑3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment required; Ryder experience may substitute.

Bachelor’s degree preferred or 1‑3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment required; Ryder experience may substitute.

Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.

Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred.

Job Category Maintenance

Compensation Information Pay Type: Salaried.

Minimum Pay Range: $74K.

Maximum Pay Range: $74K.

Eligible for annual bonus, commission, and/or long‑term incentive plan.
