We are looking for a Senior Project Manager
for software development of SCADA Energy Management Systems. This is a hybrid position located in Minnetonka, MN.
Impact and Responsibilities
Manage customer expectations across all projects and various internal functions, leading single and multi‑product software solutions projects.
Direct all phases of projects from inception through completion.
Define project scope, goals, and results that support business objectives in collaboration with account sales executives, senior management, and stakeholders.
Take responsibility for the cost, schedule, quality, and technical performance of the assigned project(s).
Define project success criteria and disseminate them to all parties throughout the project life cycle.
Proactively manage changes in project scope to increase success and minimize risk to the customer and the company.
Develop complete project plans and associated communications documents.
Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
Provide regular updates to team, PMO, and executive management within Siemens and customers’ organizations on work performed, plans, budget, and overall status, along with strategies to grow the project/program and support process improvements.
Collaborate with other PMO teams at GSW, Siemens Industry, and within other segments to ensure consistency and alignment, sharing best practices to continuously improve project/program efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Identify risks and issues and implement mitigating actions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications; liaise with Claim Manager for managing contractual disputes.
Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements for the contracted scope of the project(s) and maintain the relationship during execution.
Direct diagnostics to determine root cause and corrective actions while controlling nonconformance cost.
Apply Siemens’ project process and management principles at all aspects of project scope and deliverables.
Coach, mentor, empower, and supervise project team members and contractors, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
Conduct project retrospectives and create recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or instrumentation engineering.
Professional software development project management experience with large SCADA and EMS systems in the electrical utility industry, using Jira and MS Project Schedule.
Advanced skills in business data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
PMP certification required within one year of accepting the offer to retain employment.
20% travel required (national and international).
Preferred Qualifications
Agile methodology experience.
Commitment to develop, drive, and manage projects in a highly competitive market.
Experience in identifying and implementing cost‑saving measures within projects.
Ability to work in a team environment providing dedicated support to our customers.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex issues to multi‑level audiences and effectively communicate progress, status, and issues to internal and external customers.
Ability to interpret and report results to senior management as well as customers.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, adapt to changes, and develop innovative solutions for execution.
Demonstrated ability in contract and change management.
