Region Finals Administrator (ADMINISTRATOR IV) Location:

Grand Junction, CO

Pay Range:

$71,544.00 – $82,272.00 per year

Position Summary The Region Finals Administrator oversees the closure process for all Region 3 Construction and ITS projects. Responsibilities include managing the Region Construction Finals Documentation Program, serving as a staff authority on final documentation, and coordinating audits and records management for complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the Region Construction Finals Documentation Program and review process.

Determine how the final checking/auditing process is performed and tracked.

Advise project engineers on Federal and State documentation rules.

Schedule and conduct interim pay documentation audits of active projects and recommend corrections.

Identify and investigate discrepancies in project documentation and recommend needed changes.

Ensure as‑constructed plans, standards, and specifications have proper engineering principles.

Evaluate project documentation for logic, engineering calculations, and completeness.

Oversee, train, and assist CDOT and consultant personnel with construction documentation.

Conduct and facilitate training for construction and materials documentation.

Determine, develop, and provide training for documentation of pay items, materials, and contract modifications.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Primarily 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday.

Average work week: 40 hours; periodic overtime as projects require.

Approximately 20% fieldwork; 80% office.

Occasional evening, night, and weekend work.

Travel within Region for meetings and site visits required.

May require nights or weekends depending on construction schedules.

Required to operate CDOT vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications Experience Only

Seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction inspection, documentation, management, materials testing, or materials documentation.

Education and Experience

A combination of relevant education and experience equal to at least 7 years.

Education from an accredited college or university, with coursework in construction management or related field.

Experience related to construction inspection, documentation, management, materials testing, or materials documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Proven success with duties listed above.

Years of State service experience related to the position.

Highest work/personal ethics and integrity.

Working knowledge of engineering processes, theories, laws, principles, and best practices.

Experience with transportation engineering construction and/or design projects.

Consultant/contract management experience.

Experience with CDOT Construction Manual, CDOT Design Manual, CDOT Field Materials Manual, MUTCD, and Method of Handling Traffic.

Ability to manage multiple assignments and work under tight deadlines.

Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.

Excellent interpersonal, mentorship, and training skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Applications, Site Manager, and quick learning of other software.

Passion for safety.
