Position Summary The System Controller is responsible for the operational integrity of the schedule system wide. The Controller coordinates the resources within the System Operations Center as well as other cross‑departmental resources to take a proactive approach to managing and developing the operating plans to maintain schedule integrity during system disruptions.

Essential Responsibilities

Proactively plan and execute the daily and future schedule to achieve established performance goals

Make aircraft swaps for operational integrity and scheduled/planned maintenance purposes as needed

Ensure optimal routing of aircraft for operational/performance restrictions

Anticipate where disruptions may occur and work to reduce or eliminate delays imposed on JetBlue flights

Develop a recovery strategy in collaboration with internal & external stakeholders as part of an overall tactical system operating plan

Communicate significant irregularities to operational teams system wide

Build and manage Flight Disruptions and Tarmac Delays utilizing technology applications including TOPS and dashboards

Coordinate with Crew Services to address crew legality constraints

Take ownership of and lead POD decision making for the daily operation, FIT, and IROP PODs

Assist with Business Continuity & Emergency Response duties in support of the airline

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma

Valid FAA Aircraft Dispatch certificate

Five (5) years of airline experience or military equivalent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong organization and management skills

Ability to work flexible work schedule to cover the operation 24 hours per day, 7 days per week

Able to pass pre‑employment drug test

Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related field

Two (2) years in an airline leadership role

Two (2) years’ experience in the System Operations environment

Application knowledge in: Sabre, TOPS, GE Ops Solver, and Flight Keys

Ability to work under pressure in a team environment

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a challenging environment

Highly organized and focused with the ability to prioritize tasks

Possess strong technical knowledge of aircraft performance, navigation, weather, and Federal Aviation Regulations

Crewmember Expectations

Regular attendance and punctuality

Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice

Well‑groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy, and behavioral standards

Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents, or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures, and risk controls

Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Work Environment

A flexible work schedule is required to cover the operation twenty‑four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week

Shift work is required

Crewmembers work 12‑hour shifts to support the operations with staggered days off

Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is starting at $43.09 an hour. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
