The Opportunity We are partnering with organizations in Muskegon that are seeking HR Generalists. Key Responsibilities
Manage full-cycle recruitment for production, technical, and administrative roles within the manufacturing facility.
Provide guidance and support on employee relations issues, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as company policies and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
Administer HR programs such as compensation, benefits, workers' compensation, and leave management.
Facilitate new hire onboarding, orientation, and safety training programs specific to the manufacturing environment.
Maintain accurate HR records and utilize HRIS for data management, reporting, and analytics.
Support managers in developing and implementing talent development and retention strategies for the manufacturing workforce.
Recommended Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including OSHA regulations.
Proven ability to manage employee relations, conflict resolution, and investigations.
Experience with full-cycle recruitment for production, skilled trades, and administrative roles.
Proficiency with HRIS platforms and experience with payroll processing.
Bonus Qualifications
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and EHS best practices in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies
Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to support a diverse workforce
Prior experience with labor relations or collective bargaining
