Job Description As a Controls Technician, you will troubleshoot and interpret PLC ladder logic and electrical control systems, working with GE and Siemens PLCs as well as robotics, servos, drives, and HMIs. Your role includes fabricating and wiring electrical panels, reading and updating electrical and pneumatic schematics, performing root cause analysis, implementing continuous improvement solutions, and supporting preventive maintenance while strictly adhering to Arc Flash and Lockout/Tagout safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and interpret PLC ladder logic and electrical control systems.
Work with GE and Siemens PLCs, robotics, servos, drives, and HMIs.
Fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.
Read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics.
Perform root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement solutions.
Support preventive maintenance.
Adhere to Arc Flash and Lockout/Tagout safety protocols.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and automation systems.
Ability to interpret schematics and navigate ladder logic.
Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code, Ohm’s Law, and Kirchhoff’s Law.
5+ years of experience in industrial electrical controls or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Associate degree in electronics or PLC troubleshooting preferred.
Must pass written and practical electrical tests.
Work Environment The position is based at the company's largest and most advanced manufacturing site, offering onsite amenities such as a cafeteria and gym.
