This Resource Protection Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for the staff, visitors and the collections at all Society properties. The Officer will stand posts, screen access, patrol, monitor activity, have courteous and professional interaction with Museum visitors and deter and/or interdict criminal activity according to Missouri Historical Society's policy and the St. Louis County Police Private Security Section. This shift works part-time, 12am-8am shift. Essential Functions

As an essential staff member, required to work scheduled shift at all times, in all conditions Provides professional and excellent customer service to staff and visitors via phone or in-person Conduct continuous foot patrols, randomly, of the interior and exterior grounds of Missouri Historical Society properties during assigned shift Provides escorts to staff when requested or as needed Conducts Exhibition Gallery inspections prior to museum's operating hours and after closing Responds to emergency calls for assistance for staff and/or visitors and provide first aid as needed Cooperates with police, fire and other authorities in problems affecting Museum properties Responsible for maintaining records of daily activities and preparing complete and accurate reports of unusual occurrences, electronically and in writing Monitors building access of staff, contractors, visitors and all other persons entering MHS facilities during assigned shift Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Some secondary education Experience in security-related field with a non-profit organization a plus Must be able to obtain a Metropolitan Security Officer's License through the St. Louis County Police Skills

Experience with DNA building security and Milestone surveillance systems softwares Must be able to engage the staff and visitors in a polite and professional manner at all times and present self as an Ambassador for the Society Ability to stand and walk a large percent of the time and often required flexible shifts outside of traditional business hours Ability to observe, address and report security situations which may pose a hazard or may cause a loss to the Museum Deadline to Apply: Open until filled.
