Job Description We are seeking a talented DES2 Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in California City, United States. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business needs and data engineering solutions, leveraging your analytical skills to drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements for data-driven projects

Translate complex business needs into technical specifications for the data engineering team

Perform ad-hoc analysis and create data visualizations to support business decisions

Assist in the optimization of data systems and processes for improved efficiency

Participate in Agile development processes and sprint planning

Document technical and business processes related to data systems

Stay current with emerging trends in data engineering and business intelligence

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

3-5 years of experience in business analysis or related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Proficiency in SQL and experience with data manipulation techniques

Experience working with large datasets and complex data systems

Expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

Solid understanding of business intelligence concepts and data warehouse principles

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Project management skills and experience with Agile methodologies

Knowledge of data engineering principles and practices

Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements Gathering & Analysis

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and operational teams at container terminals to understand business processes, pain points, and system needs

Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements for enterprise applications including OCR systems, AI/ML-based solutions, and equipment monitoring platforms

Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and system specifications

Facilitate requirement workshops, design discussions, and cross-functional alignment sessions

Technical Collaboration

Work closely with Technical Architects, AI/ML Engineers, React Leads, and Backend Developers to ensure requirements are technically feasible and aligned with solution architecture

Define integration requirements for microservices, Minimal APIs, Kafka messaging flows, and Azure-based enterprise systems

Support data engineering teams with business rules required for data pipelines, reporting layers, and ML datasets

Business Process Modelling

Create as-is and to-be process maps

Identify process improvement opportunities leveraging automation, AI/ML models, and system enhancements

Support development of feature prioritization, solution options
