Job Description
Graduation from accredited law school with a Juris Doctor Degree
Background in conducting legal research, analyzing & evaluating legal documents, rules, regulations, and/or legislation, or review & analysis of regulatory matters in a government agency.
Role & Responsibilities
Under supervision, perform housing related assistance and act as a liaison between the Division of Housing & Community Resources and the department's Regulatory services in receiving, formulating and transmitting requests for legal advice on behalf of the Division;
Conduct hearings for Division and render written decisions as required;
Review & analyze Division's program documents including reasonable accommodation requests;
Conduct legal research on rules and regulations on programs and review policies and procedures for compliance;
Provide technical guidance on Legislative Agenda items and complete special projects as assigned within established time frames;
Handles OPRA requests as records custodian.
Required Skills
Ability to conduct legal research, analyze & evaluate legal documents & regulatory matters in a government agency; or 1 year experience as an attorney
Appointee must be eligible to practice as an attorney-at-Law in the State of NJ
Appointee must possess a current Certificate of good standing issued by the State of NJ board of Bar Examiners.
Certificate of good standing issued by any other state in the US.
Active NJ State Bar License.
