Love being out in the field and making a difference? We are hiring a Geologist or Environmental Scientist who’s not afraid to get their hands dirty. This role is 50% field-based and perfect for someone who’s proactive, resilient, and ready to take on diverse environmental challenges.
Daily Tasks
Managing logistics and project schedules
Conducting fieldwork and site investigations
Assisting technical staff in data management, evaluation, and reporting under the direction of a senior professional
Performing geologic fieldwork
Overseeing fieldwork and writing reports based on fieldwork performed or managed
Coordinating and managing geologic fieldwork-based projects
Responsible for own schedule: Blending fieldwork and office work to meet project deadlines
Evaluating bids and understanding job requirements
Performing basic site assessment reports
Filling the gap between inexperienced individuals and Professional Geologists (PGs)
Using templates for technical reports: Understanding site requirements and writing work plans using these templates
Making field decisions and understanding the ramifications of missing data, especially with vapor intrusion issues
Working directly with PGs
Returning to the office to write reports, including groundwater monitoring reports
Key Responsibilities
Planning Geology Projects: Organize geological projects, considering goals, timelines, and resources
Gathering and Analyzing Geological Data: Collect field samples, conduct surveys, and analyze data to understand Earth's composition, structure, and processes
Studying the Earth's Crust and Various Materials: Examine rocks, minerals, fossils, and other materials to uncover valuable resources and assess their potential for economic development
Fieldwork: Visit sites of interest, conduct surveys, and collect samples
Technical Report Writing: Write detailed reports based on fieldwork findings, data analysis, and research
Project Management: Manage logistics, project schedules, and oversee fieldwork activities
Coordination and Oversight: Ensure efficient execution and accurate reporting of geologic fieldwork projects

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.10 - $38.46/hr.
