Peak Performers is partnering with a major Texas government agency dedicated to strengthening public health statewide. This team leads crucial initiatives supporting HIV, STD, and viral hepatitis prevention and workforce development. We are hiring an Engagement-Focused Training & Development Specialist to support statewide training, education, and capacity-building programs. Responsibilities
Assisting with planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, delivering, and evaluating training and capacity-building programs. Supporting training initiatives across multiple programs within the HIV Services Section. Providing in-person training to workforce members at various sites statewide. Facilitating small, medium, and large group sessions, including virtual and in-person workshops and professional development courses. Collaborating with internal public health programs to ensure training meets the evolving needs of the HIV/STD/viral hepatitis workforce. This position requires extensive travel, up to 75% of work duties, often for multi-day trips (up to 5 days/6 nights at a time). Weekend travel may be required. Reliable personal transportation is essential; travel is reimbursed. Note: Your first week will be on-site for onboarding and training. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college/university in public health, communications, education, or a related field OR an equivalent combination of relevant work experience that demonstrates the skills needed for this role. Two or more years of full-time experience in public health, public administration, HIV/STD services, or a closely related field. Experience developing and implementing public health workforce training is strongly preferred. Additional directly related work experience may substitute for education (up to 4 years). Preferred Experience (Nice To Have)
Previous professional experience in HIV/STD programs. Hands-on experience designing and delivering training to public health audiences. Opportunity Details
Compensation Rate: $38.00/hour Location: Austin, TX 78753 Project Length: ~8 months (through 8/31/2026) Target Start: January 12, 2026 Travel: Up to 75% (in-state, multi-day trips required) Employer Benefits and Conditions
