Sr Project Manager Project Development and Planning Inside Higher Ed is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead infrastructure improvements, maintenance, and renovations across the Lone Star College System campuses. The role focuses on projects exceeding $10 M and requires full oversight of the project lifecycle: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closure.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct leadership, supervision, and coordination of all resource planning efforts and project plans.

Interpret stakeholder facility needs and develop scoped projects that meet budget constraints.

Coordinate with peer Senior Project Managers and Campus Property Services Directors to standardize services.

Facilitate RFP preparation and partner with Business Operations on contract documents.

Maintain clear communication with campus leadership, faculty, staff, and vendors.

Control project schedules and recommend changes as needed.

Ensure compliance with laws, codes, and safety regulations.

Monitor project budgets and manage pay applications, testing, and consulting costs.

Ensure documentation exchange among architects, engineers, and contractors.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and minimum 7 years of related experience (or equivalent).

At least 3 years in a management level position.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Architect license.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Certified Facility Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of Texas Education Code procurement policies.

Strong understanding of building safety standards.

Ability to multi‑task, follow‑up, and results‑orient.

Proficiency with PM frameworks (PMBOK, Lean, Agile).

Strong communication, technical writing, and supervisory skills.

Fluent PC skills – Microsoft Office, Procore, ServiceNow, MS Project, Visio.

Ability to manage contracts, budgets, and schedules and make sound decisions in crisis situations.

Physical and Work Conditions

Requires standing, walking over uneven surfaces, bending, and occasional lifting of moderate loads.

Work involves exposure to outdoor elements, hazardous substances, and may require protective gear.

Must be flexible to work odd hours, nights, weekends, and holidays.

May travel across LSC locations.

Salary and Benefits Hiring salary range: $96,107 – $110,523. Benefits include paid holidays, vacation days, wellness programs, tuition waiver, and professional development opportunities.
