About the Role Schedule:
Sunday – Wednesday, 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM Supporting:
70 Drivers
Experience:
Transportation background, strong communicator, goal‑oriented, detail‑oriented, and demonstrated leadership skills
Compensation:
Annual base salary plus bonus eligible up to 12% of base. Additional bi‑weekly shift differential of $205.00 (≈$5,330 annually). Benefits:

Position Summary Operational leadership
directs daily tasks—driver deliveries, trailer loading/unloading, freight documentation—and enforces company processes and cost objectives. The supervisor manages people, systems, and equipment, oversees performance, implements corrective actions, and participates in hiring and customer meetings as needed.
Major Responsibilities
People:
Ensure supervisors and associates are trained, competent, and aligned with customer objectives.
Communicate specific and measurable performance standards.
Interview hourly associates and recommend hires.
Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance; coach and counsel associates.
Motivate and engage teams through accomplishments and recognition.
Operations:
Supervise logistics operations—customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch, documentation, and procedure control.
Conduct team meetings.
Recommend changes to improve dispatch productivity; assist in training new associates.
Provide relief coverage when associates are absent.
Maintain knowledge of site operating systems for compliance and exception resolution.
Ensure all records and reports are completed accurately and promptly.
Finance:
Comply with financial policies; track MPG, returns, damages.
Understand profitability relationships.
Minimize overtime while meeting productivity targets.
Safety:
Align daily activities with safety strategy.
Provide training and feedback for safe performance.
Ensure regulatory and company policy compliance.
Conduct safety observations.
Growth / Customer Experience:
Understand and exceed location‑specific customer goals.
Communicate Penske’s commitment to meeting customer objectives.
Identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Fleet / Assets:
Plan work assignments for effective fleet use.
Teach associates safe and efficient equipment operation.
Coordinate equipment maintenance with vendors and Penske Truck Leasing.
Execute additional projects as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills; build rapport with associates, internal leadership, and external customers.
Efficient, independent worker with excellent time‑management and organizational abilities.
Strong written and oral communication; active listening.
Problem‑solving, critical thinking, and independent decision making.
Process improvement and change leadership.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Ownership and sense of urgency in running operations.
High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Consistent, full attendance required.
Willingness to travel, work required schedule and location, complete employment application, background investigation, and drug screening.
Physical Requirements
Perform reading, communication, and instruction understanding tasks.
Stand, walk, sit; use hands, reach; lift up to 25 lbs (12 kg) occasionally.
Maintain close, distance, peripheral, depth vision and focus adjustment.
