The City of Loveland is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as the Crew Supervisor for Operations and Sports Turf. This is a supervisory position focused on maintaining safe, aesthetic, high‑quality athletic fields and park infrastructure. The Supervisor will lead a team of field staff to manage play courts, softball and baseball fields, synthetic turf, and the scheduling of events. They will also oversee special‑event logistics and coordinate with the Rec Trac software program.
Salary Range:
$75,871 – $110,013 per year, hiring range $75,871 – $92,942, depending on qualifications and experience.

Essential Functions
Ensure safe, clean, and well‑maintained athletic fields and park facilities through effective staff management and compliance monitoring.
Contribute to maintenance tasks using tools and equipment and troubleshoot issues on the fly.
Manage service and construction contracts and related projects.
Lead a team that schedules and manages multiple events on public parks and sports fields.
Plan and schedule work units while allocating resources, purchasing equipment, and developing loss‑control strategies.
Provide improvements to policies, procedures, and resources; recommend new systems and budget requests.
Respond independently to change and special needs, resolving conflicts with others.
Communicate information to the public and internal stakeholders; maintain records, reports, and documentation.
Deliver exceptional customer service in all interactions.
Report problems affecting other departments and direct information appropriately.
Maintain communication with the public and city staff.
Interview, hire, train, appraise, reward, discipline, and resolve complaints for employees.
Develop park policies & procedures in cooperation with the Parks Manager.

Serve as department representative on city and community committees.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Parks Administration or related field.
Five years of experience in park maintenance and operations, including turf maintenance, irrigation, plant identification, safety inspections, and project management.
Training in horticulture and urban forestry preferred.
Understanding of the Rec Trac software system preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
Certifications & Licenses
Valid driver's license.
Confined Space Entry Certification and CPR Certification within six months of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective supervision and project scheduling.
Knowledge of turf, sports field, and synthetic turf management.
Effective communication in writing and verbally.
Prepare employee evaluations, cost estimates, schedules, reports, and track budgets.
Knowledge of Colorado water law and irrigation system operations.
Manage projects and service contracts related to park infrastructure.
Walk grounds and assess required work.
