Position Summary
The Loan Servicing Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining loan accounts after origination, ensuring accurate payment processing, compliance with regulations, and excellent customer service throughout the life of the loan. Key Responsibilities
Process and apply loan payments accurately and timely Maintain loan records, balances, escrow accounts, and interest calculations Respond to borrower inquiries regarding payments, balances, statements, and payoff requests Manage loan modifications, deferments, forbearances, and payoff processing Monitor delinquent accounts and coordinate with collections or loss mitigation teams as needed Ensure compliance with federal, state, and investor regulations Prepare and review loan statements, notices, and reports Research and resolve payment discrepancies or account issues Collaborate with internal teams such as underwriting, accounting, and compliance Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred 1–3+ years of loan servicing, banking, mortgage, or financial services experience Strong understanding of loan servicing systems and payment processing Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong customer service and communication abilities Proficiency in MS Excel and loan servicing software Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Preferred Skills
Experience with mortgage, consumer, or commercial loan servicing Knowledge of escrow analysis, amortization schedules, and regulatory requirements Familiarity with servicing platforms (e.g., MSP, Black Knight, FIS, Jack Henry, etc.) Why This Role Matters
