Description The Holy Cross Level II NICU focuses on patients’ needs and combines compassionate care with sophisticated monitoring technology.
This role reports to the Director of Labor & Delivery.
Responsibilities
Working closely with Neonatologists, Pediatricians, Respiratory Therapists, Social Workers and other professionals to provide care for infants admitted to the NICU.
Attend high‑risk deliveries (including multiple gestation, meconium, congenital defects).
Administer medications, insert IV lines, utilize ventilators/CPAP, and perform tests ordered by the physician.
Provide education to families on home care in preparation for discharge.
Chart electronic medical records using EPIC.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program; basic professional nursing degree (with requirement to obtain a BSN/MSN within a specific timeframe).
Current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or Compact State as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification (American Heart Association).
NRP certification.
At least 3 years of nursing experience in Level III or IV NICU.
Preferred Qualifications
BSN or MSN preferred.
STABLE certification or obtain within first year of hire.
