We are seeking a Director of Resident Lifestyle (Assisted Living & Independent Living) to lead resident engagement at

Sycamore Glen , a vibrant senior living community within Community First Solutions. In this role, you will set the tone for an inclusive, engaging, and joyful resident experience, ensuring that every resident feels known, valued, and connected.

This is not a behind-the-scenes role. As the Director of Resident Lifestyle, you will be actively involved on campus—building relationships with residents and families, mentoring your engagement team, and bringing innovative programs to life. Your creativity, leadership, and passion for people will directly shape daily life and special moments for the residents you serve.

Pay:

Starting at $55,000/year, based on professional experience

Responsibilities

Responsible for organizing, planning, facilitating and directing overall operations of the resident activities programming in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations, company policies and procedures

Hiring, management, training, scheduling, payroll approval, and supervision of all Engagement Associate staff

Provides a creative social atmosphere throughout the property and promotes resident and family participation through regularly scheduled events, activities, special programs and guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions that fit within the guidelines of the Resident Engagement program

Coordinates and attends all special functions and Resident Engagement activity programs for major Holidays

Ensures Resident Engagement activities and events acknowledge and meet the cultural, religious and ethnic diversity and interests of the residents and their families

Personally meets with each new resident within three (3) days of move‑in to ensure completion of the Life Story questionnaire

Hires, evaluates, coordinates, motivates, monitors performance, and supervises department staff in accordance with company policy and department budget.

Responsible for staff evaluations, 1:1 employee rounding, disciplinary actions and terminations

Ensures all necessary vendor/entertainer check requests are completed accurately and timely and in accordance with all company policies and procedures. This includes the timely and accurate completion of W‑9 submissions for the vendor/entertainer

As directed, plans, schedules, prepares and conducts staff in services

Coordinates transportation needs of the residents and maintains transportation schedule for all Resident engagement events, activities and appointments

Ensures knowledge remains current regarding senior activities through completion of continuing education courses and networking opportunities with other community professionals

Supports the Executive Director in referral source development efforts, works cooperatively with Community Sales and Marketing Directors and assists with marketing events held at the Community to build the census of the property

Develops, implements and manages a “New Resident Welcome” program within the community

Develops, implements and manages a “Resident Birthday” program within the community

Develops, recruits, manages and schedules Community Volunteers. Completes and maintains all required logs and paperwork associated with the Community’s Volunteer Program

Ensures a Resident Council Meeting is held monthly

Accurately and timely performance of all clerical work connected with the position (e.g. Monthly Activity Calendar)

Assists with set up of special events

Aids in community marketing effort through demonstrated proficiency and willingness to conduct Community tours, participation in all required marketing events and trough positive/friendly interaction with all potential residents, family members and referral source

Arranges for coverage of job duties within the department during employee absences either through delegation or personal completion of duties

Obtains and maintains all state required certifications/licensures

Qualifications Education:

High School diploma or GED

Licenses or other required certifications : CPR certification

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of care experience in senior housing setting, previous supervision experience is preferred.

Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Positive and cheerful disposition

Proven leadership and organizational qualities

Comfortable making decisions and director other

Knowledge of progression and care of dementia residents
