As a LTC Registered Nurse, perform comprehensive resident care: conducting thorough assessments, developing and updating individualized care plans, administering medications safely and accurately, monitoring vital signs, interpreting lab data, and recognizing early signs of deterioration. Coordinate with physicians, therapists, social workers, and families to ensure care aligns with residents’ goals and preferences. Supervise and guide nursing assistants; ensure safe mobility, fall prevention, pressure injury prevention, wound care, and infection control. Maintain meticulous documentation in electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance. Lead care conferences, advocate for the resident’s voice, and participate in palliative and end-of-life discussions with sensitivity and professionalism. Support professional growth: access geriatrics-focused continuing education, opportunities to deepen expertise in chronic disease management, wound care, delirium prevention, and pathways toward leadership roles or preceptorship of new travelers.
