RN Charge – Ortho MS – Days

Overview: INTEGRIS Health Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma’s largest not‑for‑profit health system, offers an opportunity for an RN Charge to work days with our Ortho MS team. You will provide exceptional care, collaborate with physicians, and drive unit safety and performance. Responsibilities
Assist caregivers with standards of care and provide education as needed.
Ensure caregiver assignments are safe and clinicians know the escalation process.
Facilitate unit performance improvement processes as directed by leadership.
Supervise and coordinate delegation and implementation of patient care for licensed and non‑licensed personnel.
Serve as primary point of contact for medical staff on the shift; round with medical staff when needed.
Manage patient assignments and unit workflow, ensuring timely admissions and discharges.
Project staffing needs for upcoming 12‑ and 24‑hour periods and address issues as they arise.
Ensure caregivers receive lunches and entitled breaks; arrange buddy systems or relieve for lunch.
Conduct safety huddles using huddle boards and maintain consistent bedside shift reports.
Remind caregivers of hourly rounding using technology reminders.
Perform patient rounds, updating white boards and ensuring high‑risk patients receive proper fall‑prevention tactics.
Engage in crucial conversations when caregivers do not meet expectations.
The Charge Nurse reports to the appropriate supervisor, manager, or director. This position may involve additional physical demands and respiratory fit‑test requirements as applicable.
Qualifications
Current RN licensure in Oklahoma.
Associate’s in Nursing required; BSN preferred within two years of employment.
Current BLS certification upon accepting the position.
Effective written and verbal communication in English.
Completion of department‑specific competencies during orientation.
Emergency Department Only
PALS certification required.
ACLS certification required.
Adult Critical Care Only
Competent in all advanced competencies.
ACLS certification required.
Seniority Level Mid‑Senior level.
Employment Type Full‑time.
