Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs, policies, and procedures.
Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental, health, and safety risks and hazards across the manufacturing site.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and deliver EHS training programs to all employees, contractors, and visitors.
Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and assessments to drive continuous improvement.
Manage hazardous waste streams and ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of all regulated materials.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific/technical field.
5-7+ years of progressive EHS management experience within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and applying federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Strong leadership, communication, and training skills with the ability to influence safety culture.
Relevant professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager).
Bonus Qualifications
Experience integrating EHS into Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives.
Proficiency with EHS management software platforms (e.g., Intelex, Cority, Enablon) and data analytics for trend identification.
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing robust Workers' Compensation programs and return-to-work strategies.
Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and/or ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
