JOB DESCRIPTION Under the direction of the Director of the Elementary School, serve as an administrator with the responsibilities of executing the instructional vision and programming at Arts in Action.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote the academic success and holistic growth of all students through collaborating with the elementary school director and other members of the leadership team on elementary school programming and initiatives
Help lead the curriculum design, research, coaching and accountability measures for the implementation of core curricula
Help lead the SSPT process for the elementary school in collaboration with the elementary school Director and Director of Accessible Education (Academic, Behavioral, Social-Emotional)
Handle the logistics of classroom coverage and substitute teaching needs in the event of teacher absences, teacher trainings, and teacher meetings
In conjunction with the Instructional Leadership team, help lead the planning and implementation of high quality academic intervention cycles that utilize best practices, and that are based on a comprehensive review of data, student growth, and student outcomes
Function as the testing coordinator for statewide testing, inclusive of receiving training, staying abreast of compliance requirements, scheduling, ordering of materials, training staff on test proctoring, and leading student testing initiatives for ELPAC, CAASPP, CAST, PFT
Function as the testing coordinator for schoolwide benchmark assessments (i-Ready), including mirroring best proctoring practices that are aligned to state testing, scheduling, student initiatives, data analysis and presentations, and leading professional development on data analysis, goal setting and growth accountability measures for instructional staff
Help lead School Site Council, ELAC, monthly parent meetings, and other leadership committees or initiatives as requested
Help lead school based committee work and stipended teacher work
Help plan and lead summer school and winter and spring break intervention initiatives and programming as requested
Help lead restorative justice practices and PBIS initiatives
Help lead attendance and SART initiatives
Support the elementary school director with teacher and assistant teacher professional development, coaching, observations, and other accountability measures (inclusive but not limited to evaluations)
Help lead the facilitation of parent conferences and meet with parents to communicate student’s strengths and areas for improvement as requested by instructional staff
Attend professional development and continuing education workshop opportunities to continuously improve the instructional practices at Arts in Action
Help lead the scheduling and supervision logistics of morning duty, valet car pick-up and drop-off and other periods of the school day as requested
Help lead initiatives centered on communicating the educational program to the community through such activities as back to school nights, parent conferences, and family nights
Support with other tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Teaching credential in core content area (inclusive of special education and multiple subject teaching credentials)
8 plus years of teaching experience and/or school leadership experience
Obtained or currently enrolled in a Master’s in Education or Educational Leadership OR administrative credential
Ability to establish/foster a positive and safe school culture
Demonstrated ability in conflict resolution
Possesses a growth mindset and a love of learning
Strong oral and written communication skills (Spanish fluency a plus!)
WAGE AND BENEFITS The salary for this job is competitive and commensurate with experience; in addition we offer a competitive benefits package including CALSTRS participation and medical, dental, and vision options. Salary for certificated administrators is $90,000-$120,500 (depending on experience, units of education).
