Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local EHS regulations and company policies.
Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures relevant to manufacturing operations.
Conduct regular EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures to reduce recurrence.
Provide comprehensive EHS training to employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and specialized topics.
Manage hazardous waste disposal, chemical handling, and emergency response plans.
Promote a strong EHS culture through employee engagement, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related scientific field.
5+ years of progressive EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Demonstrated expertise in OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage EHS programs and management systems (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Strong leadership, communication, and training skills, with a track record of fostering a proactive safety culture.
Bonus Qualifications
Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification.
Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Lean / Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish) to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce.
