Job Description: Seabury Hall is currently seeking a highly qualified candidate to join its dynamic team of faculty, staff, and administrators.
The School is a thriving coeducational, college-preparatory school serving approximately 535 students in grades 5–12. It is widely regarded as the premier college-preparatory institution on Maui and among the leading independent schools in the state of Hawaii. Seabury Hall’s faculty and administration are deeply committed to the school’s mission and to fostering the academic, personal, and ethical growth of every student.
Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Athletics is a key strategic partner to the Director of Athletics and Administration, focused on the growth, design, and long-term development of Seabury Hall’s 5th–12th grade athletic ecosystem. This is a high-level administrative and instructional role that requires a visionary mindset to build programs while maintaining operational excellence.
As a 12-month employee, the Assistant Director of Athletics will spend the academic year architecting sports programs and teaching one to two athletic courses, while transitioning into a leadership duo as the Co-Summer Camp Director to manage and expand the school’s summer footprint.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Sports Management, or related field
Experience: Demonstrated success in program building or athletic administration. Experience in a camp / people leadership and management is highly valued.
Leadership Style: A "team-first" collaborator who can take direction from the Director of Athletics while also taking independent initiative to solve problems.
Skills: High emotional intelligence, advanced organizational skills, and the ability to inspire both 5th-grade beginners and Varsity-level athletes.
Certifications: CPR/AED/First Aid (Required). Strength & Conditioning certification (Preferred).
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain active and mobile across a large campus, including gymnasium, weight rooms, and outdoor athletic fields in varying weather conditions.
Salary: $60,000 - $85,000/year commensurate with experience.
