Funding must be available for any continuation of appointment.)**Work Location:** Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center, Baton Rouge, Louisiana**Position Description**: Quality management is essential to protecting the gene pools of aquatic species. These programs include quality evaluation, quality control, quality assurance, and training to ensure standardized processes and high-quality material storage among research communities. Additive manufacturing technologies make it possible to fabricate simple, accessible, and inexpensive devices for direct integration into quality management activities. Responsibilities for this position include: (1) advancing the microdevice technology program at the Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources Center (AGGRC) and Aquatic Germplasm and Genetic Resources—Center of Research Excellence (AGGR-CORE); (2) designing and fabricating microarchitectures and microchip devices capable of addressing the diversity of scale and forms of genetic resources found in aquatic species; (3) designing, integrating, and fabricating electronic sample-quality-capture systems; (4) coordinating and integrating with other AGGRC and AGGR-CORE programs, and (5) developing manuscripts and conference presentations to disseminate information on work performed. Work after hours, including weekends, will be required periodically.**Qualification Requirements:** Candidate must have a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, or a related field. Strong experience in project management, process and chemical engineering, additive manufacturing (e.g., 3-D printing), computational analysis, integrated mechano-electrical platform development, and microfluidic chip design are required. Experience with coding is preferred. Candidate must be able to lead interdisciplinary teams, collaborate in an intersectoral environment, and have strong written and oral communication skills.**Salary and Benefits:** Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
