This position calls constituents to build personal rapport, update demographic information to maintain accurate records, and acquire gifts to the college.****EXPERIENCE/SKILLS GAINED:***** Communication: Develop strong fundraising, marketing, and communication skills. Expand your technical literacy and organizational skills through a database of Lewis & Clark prospects. This position allows you to network with the L&C community throughout the country.* Leadership: Opportunities for advancement are available. Ambassadors are eligible for leadership positions after one semester with above-average performance and an excellent attendance record.* Professionalism: This position provides quality resume-building experience that employers value, particularly in fields such as communications, public relations, non-profit, marketing, customer service, sales, and finance.****PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:***** Resume****JOB DUTIES:***** **Calling responsibilities**
+ Use internal fundraising software to call alumni, parents, and friends of L&C to renew, increase, and acquire gifts to the Annual Fund.
+ Establish a positive rapport with the alumni you call.
+ Update address and contact information of all alumni.
+ Maintain records of each evening’s calls.
+ Maintain a positive approach while responding to potentially challenging concerns or issues that an alumnus, parent, or friend may bring up.
+ Follow all other procedures and guidelines in the training manual.
+ Maintain strict confidentiality of all donor information. Information should not be discussed among ambassadors or outside of the building.* **Additional responsibilities**
+ Create personalized donor outreach strategies such as letters, videos, and texts.
+ Serve as an campus ambassador, raising awareness to the importance of community engagement and philanthropy through special projects like tabling, social media takeovers, and event set-up on Day of Giving and Thank-A-Donor Day.
+ Other duties as assigned.****QUALIFICATIONS:***** This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to maintain positivity and professionalism in high-stress situations, the ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine affinity for Lewis & Clark College. Effective time management skills are essential. In order to qualify for this position, you must have a willingness to work with others. Working with the Phonathon team is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in communication, fundraising, and public relations.* This position does not require any past fundraising experience. Training sessions are provided.
