Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT) is seeking enthusiastic and motivated students to join our program. As a STAT Ambassador, you will play a crucial role in connecting with alumni, parents, and friends of the institution. Join STAT and help increase engagement, scholarship funding, program and activities budgets, and campus services for every student! This part-time student employment opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact while you build your skills in sales, communication, fundraising, technology, and relationship management while reaching out to supporters of the University. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for students who want to make a difference, and can give you a head start in virtually any career.
Shift times are Monday-Thursday 5:30-8:30 PM, and Friday 3-6 PM. There is an opportunity to continue into future terms. All class years are encouraged to apply!
Core Duties
Facilitate and maintain positive relationships between the University and its community members (alumni, friends, and parents) Communicate with prospective donors through multiple channels of engagement in a professional and positive manner Create video, email, and text content to send to donors Raise funds that support scholarships, academic programs, research projects, and other philanthropic efforts Follow all fundraising, privacy, and telecommunications laws related to their work Collaborate with team members to achieve individual and team fundraising goals Attend relevant student activities and assist University Relations staff as needed Attend regular training sessions to enhance communication and fundraising skills Other relevant duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
Comfortable speaking to people on the phone Detail-oriented with organizational skills Enthusiastic, respectful, and reliable Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with a diverse range of individuals Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team Open to giving and receiving feedback Able to handle personal information with extreme sensitivity and confidentiality Available to work two of the scheduled shifts listed above Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with University of Portland and its philanthropic initiatives is a plus Preferences will be given to students with Federal Work Study in their Financial Aid package Physical Requirements
Sitting for approximately 3 hours Occasionally lifting things around the house Ability to navigate campus grounds for events and activities, either on foot, with the use of a wheelchair, or other mobility device.
