Bryant Group is proud to partner with Schreiner University in the search for a Vice President for Advancement (VPA).
The Vice President for Advancement, Schreiner University’s chief development officer, will lead and execute a comprehensive, future-focused fundraising program aligned with the institution’s mission and long-term sustainability goals. Reporting to and advising the President, the VPA builds and sustains strong relationships with donors, alumni, trustees and community partners to secure major and transformational gifts, while representing the University publicly and engaging authentically with the Kerrville community and beyond.
The Vice President provides leadership and oversight of all advancement functions, ensuring alignment with institutional values, clear performance goals and effective stewardship of resources. Working closely with campus leaders, the role translates institutional priorities into compelling fundraising opportunities and builds a modern, sustainable development program through strategic donor identification, cultivation and use of technology. This position blends strategic vision with hands‑on leadership to deepen donor engagement, strengthen community partnerships and advance Schreiner’s long‑term aspirations.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and at least five years of senior‑level advancement experience, with a proven record of cultivating, soliciting and closing major gifts, including capital or comprehensive campaign leadership. They bring deep knowledge of advancement operations, strong team leadership skills and a clear commitment to the mission and values of a church‑related institution, with the capacity to serve as an effective chief advancement officer.
