Key Responsibilities
Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions Administer payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay adjustments Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations and labor laws Reconcile payroll reports, general ledger entries, and payroll-related accounts Coordinate payroll tax filings, W-2s, and year-end reporting Manage garnishments, benefits deductions, and 401(k) contributions Partner with HR and Finance to resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries Support internal and external audits related to payroll Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and process improvements Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a manufacturing, engineering, or industrial environment Experience with multi-state payroll and complex pay structures (hourly, salaried, union, overtime) Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel High attention to detail and strong organizational skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
