Job Overview
Sun Country Pediatrics is expanding! We’re seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to join our team. Our Spring Hill office currently includes one physician and five nurse practitioners.
In this position, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will deliver both primary and acute care to children from infancy through young adulthood. Working closely with our Medical Director, PNPs are key members of our healthcare team and provide the highest quality care for young patients.
The following job description details the primary duties and responsibilities of this role.
Responsibilities & Duties
Perform comprehensive physical exams and assess developmental stages
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
Refer patients to specialists when dealing with more complex chronic issues
Educate parents about vaccinations and preventive healthcare practices
Offer families guidance on health, wellness, and disease prevention
Order necessary diagnostic tests
Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies for pediatric patients
Track and adjust patient care plans as needed to support ongoing progress
Document visits in the EMR
Qualifications & Skills
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on pediatrics
Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by an accredited body
At least 1-3 years of experience in pediatric healthcare settings
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
Graduate of an accredited Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program
Board-certified as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP)
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Highly organized with good time management skills
Dedicated to ongoing education and professional development
